Pictured below is the Janesville Wagon the RCRPC donated to be auctioned off at the Friends of the NRA Banquet on August 10th at the Holiday Inn Janesville. This is a great event that helps the FNRA support Clubs like the RCRPC with grants for projects like our Milton Range build.
This is a one-of-a-kind Black Walnut wagon and trailer. The wood for this wagon and trailer came from Kirk Patterson’s in-laws farm near Truman WI. His Father-in-law and brother-in-law (Larry & Steve McDonald) removed this tree thinking it was a White Oak. To their surprise it was actually a Black Walnut. His brother-in-law had the tree milled into lumber. The boards were stored in their shed for the past 15 years until now. The crew at Wisconsin Wagon took great pride in building this wagon. Kirk, Nate, Bob, Chelsea and Barney from Janesville Wagon all had a hand in creating this fine wagon. Barney took the time to hand apply 4 coats of Velveteen Oil to each piece prior to assembly with a final coat of oil being hand wet sanded into the wood. The end product was this beautiful family heirloom.
At the FNRA Banquet this wagon brought $1,100.00 at the auction.
